    1. Well done, Eva! I wish I had read as many books in August, but I seem to be lagging these days. Sorry some of the books you were looking forward to reading didn't measure up :( It's always a bit sad when that happens.
      Here's to a spectacular September!

    2. Wow you basically read a book a day!! Go you!!! How did you like With Malice?? I really really liked it... but I've also been on a MISSION to find a good YA Mystery for 2 years now.

      1. Oh man, I didn't like it -- I really wanted more of a thrill and the ending was kind of poorly done considering what it meant. It also could have been due to listening to it on audio since I really didn't like the narrator

    3. Dang, you read a lot in August! I read 53 Letters to My Lover too. You mentioned it in a different post and I couldn't pass it up. Loved it!

    4. Eva that is a great amount of books that you read in August! The Boy is Back was actually the book to get me out of my reading funk, I absolutely loved it and Reed! Have you read the rest of the Boy series? I hope you have another great reading month in September! :)

      1. REED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY, we need to chat about it because no one else has read it yet. So I haven't read anything else in the series yet but I have to soon because I loved this one. I just bought books 2 and 3 ! ♥ do you have a fave?

    6. You red a lot of great books, that is awesome! I actually didn't do too bad either which was a nice change for me lately. I've been seriously slacking lately in the reading department.

    8. Wow, what a great reading month! That sucks about the 4 DNFs, sorry they weren't for. Really though you had such an amazing month as far as books go. Woo hoo!! 👏🏻👏🏻😀😀

    9. What is this Meg Cabot book, and why don't I know anything about it?! Going to Goodreads now! What an awesome reading month!!

    10. August was a great month for you!

I've got The Boy is Back on my reading pile for this week and seeing how much you loved it is making me super stoked to read it myself. Woot!

    11. The Last Days of Night and the City Baker's Guide are high up on my list. I am sorry you could not find a good rock star romance! Have you read Aunt Dimity and the Duke? It's a cute cozy mystery with a sort of rock star in it. Maybe not what you had in mind, but worth a look!

    12. I do not like rock star books, I can't think of any I like but I'm sure there must be at least one. Let me check my GR. You did so good, did Nick teach you her ways? I did good in August too (compared to my previous months) I read 11 books but most were audiobooks. Oh well. Have a great September Eva!

      1. 11 is awesome and even more awesome that they were audiobooks!! I want something that makes me feel like Girl, How to Kill a Rock Star or Devoured -- I'll keep looking ♥

    13. Wow, that's a lot of books! I'd like to give Catherine Coulter a try sometime. I'll have to check out your review. Someday I'll get to 53 Letters! I seem to remember hearing there was a lot of angst with Mighty Storm so I never wanted to pick it up. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Fabulous month, Eva! :)

    14. Ohh congrats on 23 books!! THAT IS AWESOME! I READ THAT MANY TOO!! *brings cake to this obvious party* Although I luckily didn't have any DNF's phew, but I did have a fair few books I really wish I'd never tried.😂 Ah well, it can't be a win all the time, right?!? I love the cover of The Boy is Back!! :D

    16. Wow you did amazing! I hope September is great too! I like the synopsis for With Malice sounds very mysterious :)

    17. You read a TON! Woo hoo! My favorite rock star romance is sort of a tortured one - it made me feel everything (including hate sometimes), but I love books like that. It's Rock Angel by Jeanne Bogino. If you click the link you'll find my completely incoherent review - this was the type of book that just made me overwhelmed with things to say and it has stuck in my head even though I read it a year ago.

    18. Whoa, 23 books in August. Color me impressed! Sorry to see the rock star romances didn't work, though. I'm trying to think if I've read any recently and the only one that comes close is This One Moment by Stina Lindenblatt. Unfortunately I wouldn't really recommend it. It was so tropey and over the top.

    19. 23 BOOKS?! What even! Oh my goodness!
If you've never read books in the Love Inspired series and didn't like this one. I suggest you read Love Inspired Suspense. Those are the ones I prefer. I've re-read so many of them because they are really good.
But seriously, give me the trick of reading so many books a month! I need to know!

    20. You're amazing! I don't even know how many I read but it wasn't anywhere near 23 books! I haven't read any of the books you read except for 53 LETTERS FOR MY LOVER. :)

    21. You had a busy August! And I spotted a Janet Evanovich book! I love her Stephanie Plum series but I haven't ventured out to try her other series and book. Awesome job!

I love this trope, sub-genre, setting: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend

I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting.  Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of:  My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations!  I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters!  I know there are a ton

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): ARC Greed

This discussion is inspired by my feelings lately when reading and reviewing ARCs versus the feelings I had when I requested those same ARCs: ARC GREED ARC greed -- have we all experienced this?  What I even mean by this term is that I sometimes feel overwhelmed when looking at Netgalley and Edelweiss and  I sometimes over-request, if only because I can!  I get greedy when I see all the new and shiny ARCs available and I will sometimes request things that have even a hint of interest for me, not necessarily focusing only on those books that I really, really want.  The problem with this over-requesting and with getting greedy with requesting (and receiving) ARCs is when it comes time to read and review these ARCs.  Last month and this month, I have looked at my ARCs with a release date in each respective month and I just haven't wanted to read any of them.  I need to start asking myself -- If I was immediately approved for this ARC, would I read it right thi
