Top Ten Adult/NA Books of 2013

Top Ten Tuesday  is hosted by the fab ladies at  The Broke and the Bookish ! 1.    Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies #2) and Thief (Love Me With Lies #3)                                                                 by Tarryn Fisher  The Opportunist (#1) topped my list last year and I can easily say that Dirty Red and Thief were my favorites this year by a landslide.   Thief was the perfect ending to this series and I did not put it down until I was finished-- it was so good that not only did not want it to end but I wanted it to last forever.  This is a series I will re-read every year.  Seriously, no books compete with this series for me.  Full review of Dirty Red   here . 2.  The Goldfinch  by Donna Tartt The Secret History may well be my favorite book of all time and The Goldfinch  was well worth the long wait.  Donna Tartt writes like no one else and I could not believe what I was reading while I was reading it.  Magical!! 3.   Left Drowni

TOP 10 YA BOOKS OF 2013

1.   Things I Can't Forget (Hundred Oaks #3)  by Miranda Kenneally Without question, my favorite YA books of 2013! I loved the story, the complexity, the struggle of the characters and, basically, how Miranda Kenneally was able to perfectly capture how to get over yourself sometimes. This series is PHENOMENAL.  Seriously.  I'm already ready to read this one again. Full review here 2.  Origi n (Lux #4)  by Jennifer L. Armentrout  Not what I was expecting but everything I always wanted from this series!  I cannot wait to read Opposition (Lux #5) but I do NOT want this series to end -- JLA is amazing!! 3.   Flat-Out Matt (Flat-Out Love #1.5)  by Jessica Park The short companion novella to my favorite book of last year was simply perfect.   Full review here .  4.   Just One Day  and  Just One Year   by Gayle Forman Beautiful, beautiful series by Gayle Forman about self-discovery.  The second and final book was even better than the first!

Waiting on Wednesday: Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine , that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating. Today, I am waiting on  Don't Look Back  by Jennifer L. Armentrout ! From Goodreads : Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.  Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has alwa

Review: Unleashing Mr. Darcy by Teri Wilson

Unleashing Mr. Darcy  by Teri Wilson Blurb from G oodreads: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single woman teetering on the verge of thirty must be in want of a husband. Not true for Manhattanite Elizabeth Scott. Instead of planning a walk down the aisle, she's crossing the pond with the only companion she needs; her darling dog, Bliss. Caring for a pack of show dogs in England seems the perfect distraction from the scandal that ruined her teaching career, and her reputation, in New York. What she doesn't count on is an unstoppable attraction to billionaire dog breeder Donovan Darcy. The London tycoon's a little bit arrogant, a whole lot sexy, and the chemistry between them is disarming. When passion is finally unleashed, might Elizabeth hope to take home more than a blue ribbon? My Review: As a huge Jane Austen fan, I've read countless Pride & Prejudice retellings.  Some are continuations of the story, some are modern retellings
