A few years ago, one of my absolute favorite bloggers, Nereyda, posted her first Rec Me Something Good (on her old blog), in which she asked for recommendations for fun (i.e. no drama) NA reads. The idea is simple but perfect -- you describe the type of book you're in the mood to read (based on genre, author, etc.) as well as books you've previously read and enjoyed (or not enjoyed) in that genre, etc. and let your readers recommend something they think you will like based on the category! I have been in the mood for something specific so I am (with permission) stealing this idea from Nereyda again so you can recommend something good to me today!
What I’m looking for:
I am in the mood for an amazing rockstar romance that makes me feel the same way I feel when I attend a concert I'm truly anticipating -- the excitement, the adrenaline, the love of music. These are some of my favorites:
What I’m avoiding:
Any Recs?
Help Me Out, I'm desperate!
I have no recs!!! But I do want to check out the ones that worked for you now :) Hope you find something new to try!
ReplyDeleteI have no recs either :( But like Grace above, I am going to be keeping an eye on this post!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the idea of this post Eva! I can't think of any books at the moment, but when I do I'll get back to you. I can't wait to see what other people recommend for you! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't read a lot of NA or romance, so I don't really have any good recs. I loved Audrey Wait!, but IDK if that really fits your criteria. I hope you find more rockstar books!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could recommend something, but I've read very few of these types of books. I really want to read How to Kill a Rock star and True Love Story. Glad to see you loved both of those! I'm not really into rock star themed books - The Mighty Storm, Backstage Pass, and Thoughtless all got on my nerves. lol. I hope you find a good one!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post idea, too!
Oh I love, love, love rockstar stories, Eve!! I am currently reading an upcoming release by Michelle Mankin "Tempting Tempo" which is part of her Tempest / Black Cat series. It's really, really good, and I can definitely recommend it. Here's a link to the series on Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteI also love Rock Kiss by Nalini Singh.
Good luck :)

Sadly, I have no recs for you :( I don't read rock star romances. The few I've had, weren't the greatest so obviously I won't rec them to you. I'll have to check out a few that you pointed out that look interesting.

Hey! I was just remembering about this feature a few weeks ago and thought about doing it again. But I either got lazy or forgot, possibly both. Has it really been a few years ago since I did it? Wow, seems like it was just a few months ago!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, rockstar books are soooo hard for me to find any good ones. The only one I've read is Forever My Girl and I wasn't a fan, but you can guess why (kid). Megan keeps telling me to read How to Kill a Rockstar so I'm glad to see that on my list.
Some of the rockstar books I've read have scarred me for life so stay away from those! (Music of the Heart, ugh). Hmm, the only one I can think of that you MAY like/not hate is Rock With Me by Kristen Proby. It's nothing amazing but mindless fun and the family/friend dynamic is good. Other than that, I have nada...

Ohh yes! NA - The Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott and YA - Backstage Pass series by 5 different authors (Aimee and the Heartthrob by Ophelia London, Mia and the Bad Boy by Lisa Burstein etc.)
ReplyDeleteNalini Singh's Rock Kiss series are great! I can't recommend them enough! I loved them!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to come up with something I truly loved, but this springs to mind: Call on Me by Roni Loren. It is erotica, but I'd call it smart girl erotica, because her writing is amazing! I reviewed it on Waves:

Anyhow, LOVED it so much! Hope you find one you love, Eva! :)
Nalini Singh is my favorite for rock romances. But I also liked Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series.
ReplyDeleteThe Stage Dive series is okay...I don't read much rockstar romance, and I loved Idol so I'm not the one for recommendations, haha!
ReplyDeleteI do think rockstar romances can be fun, but I don't know of any rec's that I could share! I appreciate hearing about the ones you loved though.

I know I recently recommended this book somewhere, but I don't remember if it was to you - sorry if I've already mentioned this one. But I loved Rock Angel by Jeanne Bogino. It's sort of gritty and horrible (in all the best ways). My somewhat babbling review of it can be found HERE
ReplyDeleteSorry I don't have any recs for this, but I hope someone else can give you some to try!
ReplyDeleteWish I had a great rec for you, Eva! I've read very few rock star romances (not sure why) and the most recent one I read was pretty lame so I for sure wouldn't recommend it. Looks like Kei rec'd the Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott, though. I've had my eye on that series for a while and I totally trust Kei's opinion! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't do a lot of "rock star" romance because I got discouraged by the bad apples in the bunch, but I did love Roni Loren's Wanderlust. Also, this one isn't rock but it's definitely all about the music... Caisey Quinn's Neon Dreams series. Now, I will warn you that it's pretty angsty at times. But it's one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any recs for you either. :( I hope you find something!
