Review: Happy Girl Lucky (The Valentines #1) by Holly Smale

Happy Girl Lucky (The Valentines #1) by Holly Smale Blurb from Goodreads : Sisters Hope, Faith and Mercy have everything: fame, success, money and beauty. But what Hope wants most of all is love, and it doesn’t matter how far she has to go to find it. Except real-life isn't like the movies. Even if you're a Valentine . My Review:   I usually really like YA books involving becoming famous or being related to someone famous (See Spoiled ; Not in the Script ; Between the Lines ) but this one was a bit odd.  At first, I couldn't figure out Hope -- she had almost too rich of an internal life.  If you are ok with the character fantasizing for the majority of the book versus actually living, then this may be the book for you.  I am curious what the other books in the series will be like (presumably about the other siblin...

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine , that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating. Today, I am waiting on  Breakable  by Tammara Webber  -- a new book by one of my favorite authors!  If you read Easy , Breakable is prequel about Lucas!  From Goodreads  and Tammara's Blog : He was lost and alone. Then he found her. And the future seemed more fragile than ever. As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed. All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy… As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat. Note: "Breakable is not a sequel. It...

Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To a New Adult Fan

Top Ten Tuesday  is hosted by the fab ladies at  The Broke and the Bookish !  Today I am spotlighting the Top Ten Books I'd Recommend to a New Adult Fan !  I have read a lot of books in this genre, which I loosely define as books set in college and/or concerning characters 18+.  Below are the books I love the most in this genre: 1.  There is no one better than Jessica Park when it comes to NA in my opinion!   Left Drowning is one of my top three books for this year and Flat-Out Love was my top NA pick for last year -- Flat-Out Matt was the perfect companion book! 2.  I just finished the first two books in the All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic and I could not put either book down!  These are not love stories but they are gritty and told from a unique male POV.  The first book The Foxhole Court (All for the Game) is free for kindle and I highly recommend the series! 3. ...
