Review: Everyone Dies Famous in a Small Town by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock

Everyone Dies Famous in a Small Town by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock Blurb from Goodreads : The YA collection of interconnected short stories centers on teens across the rural American West whose lives blaze with secrets, rage, and love. My Review: I don't always love collections of short stories but when I do it's usually because the stories are interconnected and part of an overarching theme.  Such is the case with this book and I really enjoyed this collection.  I also really loved all of the various settings, how the characters were interconnected but each had their own story.  This author writes such full fledged YA characters that they all seem like they could be your best friend.  I love this author and hope you give this book a chance! Everyone Dies Famous in a Small Town comes out TODAY on   April 20, 2021 , and you can purchase HERE !  You can read my review of this author'...

Review: The Smell of Other People's Houses by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock

The Smell of Other People's Houses  by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock Blurb from Goodreads : In Alaska, 1970, being a teenager here isn’t like being a teenager anywhere else. Ruth has a secret that she can’t hide forever. Dora wonders if she can ever truly escape where she comes from, even when good luck strikes. Alyce is trying to reconcile her desire to dance, with the life she’s always known on her family’s fishing boat. Hank and his brothers decide it’s safer to run away than to stay home—until one of them ends up in terrible danger. Four very different lives are about to become entangled.  My Review: This was such a quick and captivating read!  I loved the story of four different teenagers in Alaska, just post-statehood and their struggles that are probably just as fresh today.  Not only was the setting interesting (and so different from a typical suburban setting) but the characters were each unique, with the...
