Say Yes to the Death (Debutante Dropout #6) by Susan McBride Blurb from Goodreads : Someone old, someone cruel Debutante dropout Andrea Kendricks is beyond done with big hair, big gowns, and big egos—so being dragged to a high-society Texas wedding by her socialite mama, Cissy, gives her a bad case of déjà vu. As does running into her old prep-school bully, Olivia La Belle, the wedding planner, who's graduated to berating people for a living on her reality TV show. But for all the times Andy wished her dead, nobody deserves Olivia's fate: lying in a pool of blood, a cake knife in her throat—but did the angry baker do it? Millicent Draper, the grandmotherly owner of Millie's Cakes, swears she's innocent, and Andy believes her. Unfortunately, the cops don't. Though Andy's fiancé, lawyer Brian Malone, is handling Millie's case, she's determined to spring Millie herself. But where to start? "...
I'm keeping this one on my Kindle for when I need a quick read. It sounds really good! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI've never read Linda Howard's books but see them everywhere. I'm not sure why I haven't read her work (not enough time, too many books?) because I love romantic suspense. Some day, I need to correct that.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever want a recommendation, let me know! There are about five of her books that are my absolute favorites and I re-read them every year -- she's my queen for romantic suspense!!
DeleteI love these short little reads that can hold us over until the next book. Wonderful review for this, have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ali! Have a great weekend, too!
DeleteSo I guess I need to read a Linda Howard book huh?? Sometimes a shorter story can be nice to just start and finish so quick and is satisfying. Glad you enjoyed this :)
ReplyDeletePlease, tell me your favorite books by Linda Howard, Eva! I’ve only read her After the Night. I also have Mr. Perfect, Dream Man and Cry No More on my tbr-list (thanks to Rachel’s recs). What book should I read first?
ReplyDeleteThat cover...eh... I'm not a huge fan of BUT I LURVE that title girl! Does that make any sense at all?? Teehee! I've never read an anthology nor have I heard of lovely Ms. Howard, but thanks for turning us onto these! <3
ReplyDeleteoh I do love books you can read in a one sitting!! I do need to pick up this author, but boy she has so many books.
ReplyDeleteI've not read anything from this author before. Looks like I need to look her up at my library.
ReplyDeleteI have read every book that Linda Howard has written, some several times! My advice, print a book list of hers, and start reading from her earliest to most recent because she has some that need to be read in order.
