Monday Musts: Unleashing Mr. Darcy, Robert Glasper & My Favorite Book Blog Posts of the Past Week

Monday Musts is a weekly event, started and hosted by Jessica @ Lovin' Los Libros, which asks you to highlight your must read, must listen and must see!

MUST READ!
Unleashing Mr. Darcy by Teri Wilson

From Goodreads:
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single woman teetering on the verge of thirty must be in want of a husband.

Not true for Manhattanite Elizabeth Scott. Instead of planning a walk down the aisle, she's crossing the pond with the only companion she needs; her darling dog, Bliss. Caring for a pack of show dogs in England seems the perfect distraction from the scandal that ruined her teaching career, and her reputation, in New York. What she doesn't count on is an unstoppable attraction to billionaire dog breeder Donovan Darcy. The London tycoon's a little bit arrogant, a whole lot sexy, and the chemistry between them is disarming. When passion is finally unleashed, might Elizabeth hope to take home more than a blue ribbon?
Oh how I ♥ this book!  Still one of my favorite contemporary P&P retellings!  And, bonus: it is the inspiration for a made for tv movie on Hallmark!!

MUST LISTEN!

I LOVE JAZZ!  Yes, seriously.  I listen to jazz probably 90% of the time.  One of my favorite current jazz artists is Robert Glasper -- he actually does a lot of fusion as well but the above is about upcoming tribute to Miles Davis that is the soundtrack to the new biopic starring Don Cheadle.

MUST SEE!

I've decided to dedicate this space to my favorite book blog posts every week since I don't do weekly recaps (I don't have the patience) and there are always posts that I LOVE!

What are your Monday Musts??

  1. Thanks for the mention, Eva! <3 And Unleashing Mr Darcy sounds adorable. I only watched Pride & Prejudice for the first time in January but I loved it so I think I'll have to add it to the list.

  6. I recently watched the movie version of Unleashing Mr. Darcy and even though it was super cheesy because it was Hallmark (and I'm completely obsessed with cheesy Hallmark movies) I thought it was super cute. Of course I didn't know about the book before hand I think Jessica was the one who told me about it when we were talking about the movie so I definitely need to get this read!!

  7. Oh I love that your dedicating your Must See spot to blog posts that you enjoyed. I always love finding new blogs this way & it seems you've got a few listed that I've not visited before so thank you, all the posts look really interesting! I don't listen to a lot of Jazz but know doesn't know Miles Davis? I did not know, though, that they were making a biopic with Don Cheadle (love him) so thank you for sharing that video :)

  8. Oh I totally need to read Unleashing Mr. Darcy! I've had a copy for so long, but just haven't had the time! I did recently watch the Hallmark movie and it was totally cheesy like Sheri said, but cute!

I went through the biggest jazz phase in high school. I could NOT get enough of it! I still love it, but don't listen as much as I once did.

That is such a fun idea for your Must See! I love it! Thank you for the s/o! <3 And I also love finding new blogs that my close bloggers friends enjoy, so I'm definitely going to hit those up!

I love this trope, sub-genre, setting: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend

I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting.  Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of:  My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations!  I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters!  I know there are a ton

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): ARC Greed

This discussion is inspired by my feelings lately when reading and reviewing ARCs versus the feelings I had when I requested those same ARCs: ARC GREED ARC greed -- have we all experienced this?  What I even mean by this term is that I sometimes feel overwhelmed when looking at Netgalley and Edelweiss and  I sometimes over-request, if only because I can!  I get greedy when I see all the new and shiny ARCs available and I will sometimes request things that have even a hint of interest for me, not necessarily focusing only on those books that I really, really want.  The problem with this over-requesting and with getting greedy with requesting (and receiving) ARCs is when it comes time to read and review these ARCs.  Last month and this month, I have looked at my ARCs with a release date in each respective month and I just haven't wanted to read any of them.  I need to start asking myself -- If I was immediately approved for this ARC, would I read it right thi
