Waiting on Wednesday: Fall of Night (The Morganville Vampires #14) by Rachel Caine

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on Fall of Night (The Morganville Vampires #14) by Rachel Caine.  This book will be the latest in the Morganville Vampires series and given the cliffhanger that the last book, Bitter Blood, ended on . . . I cannot wait to find out what happens!

From Goodreads:

Thanks to its unique combination of human and vampire residents, Morganville, Texas, is a small college town with big-time problems. When student Claire Danvers gets the chance to experience life on the outside, she takes it. But Morganville isn’t the only town with vampire trouble...

Claire never thought she’d leave Morganville, but when she gets accepted into the graduate program at MIT, she can’t pass up the opportunity. Saying good-bye to her friends is bittersweet, especially since things are still raw and unsettled between Claire and her boyfriend, Shane.
Her new life at MIT is scary and exciting, but Morganville is never really far from Claire’s mind. Enrolled in a special advanced study program with Professor Irene Anderson, a former Morganville native, Claire is able to work on her machine, which is designed to cancel the mental abilities of vampires.
But when she begins testing her machine on live subjects, things quickly spiral out of control, and Claire starts to wonder whether leaving Morganville was the last mistake she’ll ever make...
This book will be the first in the series in which Claire gets to leave Morganville.  While I've waited and hoped for this day to come since I started reading the series . . . so many things are unsettled in Morganville that I don't know what will happen.  This book is slated to be released on May 7, 2013, and I am counting the days!

  6. I have not read a single book by Rachel Caine! I don't think I particularly want to (it's the same story for Richelle Mead and Rachel Vincent). BUT, I hope you enjoy this one when you get the chance to read it! :)

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

    1. I haven't read any Rachel Vincent but I am definitely a huge Richelle Mead devotee! Hahaha but I understand because I really don't like fantasy so I never read any of those!

    1. It's different from other vampire stories out there in that it's not about a girl in love with a vampire and it's pretty terrifying at times because there are some really bad vampires out there

      I like it a lot!

  11. I won't even tell you how far back I'm stuck in this series... let's just say it's where it started to get really good! UGH!!! I must stop taking review books... I absolutely LOVE Rachel Caine - she's a hero of mine since I read her Weather Warden series when I first started reading, at all!

Thanks for reminding me to get back on this series. At least I can find them cheap now ;) AND thanks for stopping by my little blog! Have a great rest of your week!

  14. Book 14 already? Wow! I've been tempted to begin reading this series but I'm just afraid that once I begin, I'd want to keep going till I fully catch up and that will be a marathon. I'll see if I have more time in the summer for this indulgence. Thanks for sharing :)

I love this trope, sub-genre, setting: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend

I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting.  Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of:  My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations!  I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters!  I know there are a ton

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): ARC Greed

This discussion is inspired by my feelings lately when reading and reviewing ARCs versus the feelings I had when I requested those same ARCs: ARC GREED ARC greed -- have we all experienced this?  What I even mean by this term is that I sometimes feel overwhelmed when looking at Netgalley and Edelweiss and  I sometimes over-request, if only because I can!  I get greedy when I see all the new and shiny ARCs available and I will sometimes request things that have even a hint of interest for me, not necessarily focusing only on those books that I really, really want.  The problem with this over-requesting and with getting greedy with requesting (and receiving) ARCs is when it comes time to read and review these ARCs.  Last month and this month, I have looked at my ARCs with a release date in each respective month and I just haven't wanted to read any of them.  I need to start asking myself -- If I was immediately approved for this ARC, would I read it right thi
