Monday Musts: Natalie Ross' Narration, Sonic Youth & Catching up on Links!

Monday Musts is a weekly event, started and hosted by Jessica @ Lovin' Los Libros, which asks you to highlight your must read, must listen and must see!

MUST READ!

From Goodreads:
Bailey Wingate's scheming adult stepchildren are surprised when their father's will leaves Bailey in control of their fortune, and war ensues. A year later, while flying from Seattle to Denver in a small plane, Bailey nearly dies herself when the engine sputters --- and then fails.

Cam Justice, her sexy Texan pilot, manages to crash-land the aircraft. Stranded in the wilderness, and struggling to douse her feelings for the ruggedly handsome man by her side, Bailey begins to wonder whether this was a mere accident. Who tampered with their plane? Who's trying to reunite Bailey and her husband in the afterlife? Cut off from the world, and with little hope of rescue, Bailey must trust her life --- and heart --- to Cam, as they battle the harsh elements to find a way out of the unforgiving wilds and back to civilization ... where a killer may be waiting to finish the job.
So I have never been a big audiobook fan but I have been (slowly since my commute is short) listening to audiobooks on my drive to and from work since I got a new car in April. So far, I've listened to four of Linda Howard's books but this was the first narrated by Natalie Ross -- I  her and just purchased a bunch more books she's narrated!!

MUST LISTEN!

Sonic Youth - Superstar

This will sound familiar to you if you saw my latest This & That but I remembered how great this cover is after finding the trailer for High/Haute Tension to post!

MUST SEE!
This space is dedicated to my favorite book blog posts every week since I don't do weekly recaps (I don't have the patience) and there are always posts that I LOVE!  I am, once again, several weeks behind but I've found fewer discussion posts this month?  Maybe it's vacation?
What are your Monday Musts??

  2. I can fit so many books in with audio. I listen to them while cleaning around the house, driving, during my plan period while working, etc. If the narration is good, I can really lose myself in the story.

  3. Wait, you listen to audiobooks now Eva. Oh we have lots to talk about!!! I hope you find some good books and good narrators. The following is mandatory for me to say: Georgie is AMAZING on audio. I'm on book 3 now and omg, the narrator is SOOOO Georgie!
I love the way you call us N&N, reminds me of M&M's and makes me want chocolate.
I need to read that link on not changing your ratings. I never change my ratings because i want them to stand for how i felt when i read it, even if my feelings may have changed.

  4. I'm not a *huge* listener of audio books but I do on occasion and I've learned that the narrator can totally make it or break it. I love it when I hit upon a good one! I've only read one by Linda Howard (a time travel romance that I read at least a decade ago) but it sounds like you've uncovered some real gems!
We part ways on the Sonic Youth cover. LOL Granted, I've never been a fan of Sonic Youth to start with but their cover of Superstar... OMG, I just can't. *shudders* LOL

  5. I really need to get back into audios! Especially with my commute!

  6. I've been trying hard to read more books through audio because a good narrator can really bring the book to life. Plus, it helps me tackle books faster. :) My commute isn't that long (only about 20-25 min) but I still manage to get a lot of books done.

I love this trope, sub-genre, setting: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend

I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting.  Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of:  My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations!  I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters!  I know there are a ton

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): ARC Greed

This discussion is inspired by my feelings lately when reading and reviewing ARCs versus the feelings I had when I requested those same ARCs: ARC GREED ARC greed -- have we all experienced this?  What I even mean by this term is that I sometimes feel overwhelmed when looking at Netgalley and Edelweiss and  I sometimes over-request, if only because I can!  I get greedy when I see all the new and shiny ARCs available and I will sometimes request things that have even a hint of interest for me, not necessarily focusing only on those books that I really, really want.  The problem with this over-requesting and with getting greedy with requesting (and receiving) ARCs is when it comes time to read and review these ARCs.  Last month and this month, I have looked at my ARCs with a release date in each respective month and I just haven't wanted to read any of them.  I need to start asking myself -- If I was immediately approved for this ARC, would I read it right thi
