Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2015?
From Last Night in Montreal:
I wanted to be her north star. I wanted to be her map. I wanted to drink coffee with her in the cafes in the morning and do things, as you do, as she did, instead of just philosophizing about them and deconstructing their endless Russian-doll layers of meaning. I was alone before I met her. I wanted to disappear with her, and fold her into my life. I wanted to be her compass. I wanted to be her last speaker, her interpreter, her language. I wanted to be her translator, Zed, but none of the languages we knew were the same.

  1. Many of the books you've mentioned on this post are new to me, perhaps it is because I don't typically read from the contemporary genre? In any case, The Paper Swan sounds alluring; not to mention, the cover art too! Best of luck with your reading goals in 2016!

  2. First, I am so excited you said I was your favorite new blog :) Totally made my day. Second, I just put a hold on The Truth According to Us at the library. So now I am excited for that. It is so funny because you don't cry while reading and I am almost always a damn sobbing mess during books. At least books that are meant to be sad. I'll Meet You There is on my list of need to get to in 2016 as well. Love this survey! So much fun!!

  8. Time out. You have NEVER cried while reading!?!? I think I cried while reading pure fluff before hahha. I KNOW I have cried reading acknowledgment pages ;) Also, 211 books is AMAZING. I am super impressed at that! The ponies from Maggie Stiefvater would have absolutely made my year too :D Hope you have a fabulous 2016- and that all the books you are most excited for are worthy!

Try Me Before You by Jojo Moyes :D I really need to pick up something by Maggie Stiefvater soon, I keep seeing her name EVERYWHERE. Hmm, well. Maybe this year :D

  13. I CANNOT wait for The Raven King either, Eva! I hope it blows me away. I listen to those books on audio because the narration is fantastic! I also want to read Six of Crows this year. I'm starting The Grisha series very soon. My husband and daughter LOVED it. I'm glad I don't have to wait for any books to be released since they're all out. Great year in books, Eva! And congrats on completing the Waves of Fiction reading challenge! :)

  15. Oh my goodness! I cannot wait for the Raven King!!! I've been searching everywhere for an ARC :( I haven't heard about The Truth According to Us before, I guess I have to look that one up. Garrett from The Deal rocks!

  16. The Ruby Circle was a disappointing ending? Uh oh. I still haven't gotten around to it and now I'm not sure if I want to. I've just finished the second book in the Off-Campus series and I'm really enjoying them :)

I'm totally behind on The Raven Boys series. I read the first book back when it first came out, and then never got around to the rest of the series even though I own them all. I should probably make a point to do it this year. Outlander is amazing!! I need to read Six of Crows this year too.

  17. Thanks for stopping by my EOY Survey. I liked The Ruby Circle, but I can see where you're coming from. I haven't read a lot of the books that you mentioned! But I am dying for The Raven King too!

I love this trope, sub-genre, setting: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend

I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting.  Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of:  My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations!  I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters!  I know there are a ton

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): ARC Greed

This discussion is inspired by my feelings lately when reading and reviewing ARCs versus the feelings I had when I requested those same ARCs: ARC GREED ARC greed -- have we all experienced this?  What I even mean by this term is that I sometimes feel overwhelmed when looking at Netgalley and Edelweiss and  I sometimes over-request, if only because I can!  I get greedy when I see all the new and shiny ARCs available and I will sometimes request things that have even a hint of interest for me, not necessarily focusing only on those books that I really, really want.  The problem with this over-requesting and with getting greedy with requesting (and receiving) ARCs is when it comes time to read and review these ARCs.  Last month and this month, I have looked at my ARCs with a release date in each respective month and I just haven't wanted to read any of them.  I need to start asking myself -- If I was immediately approved for this ARC, would I read it right thi
