Top Ten Books On My Spring 2014 TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fab ladies at The Broke and the Bookish!

1.  Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher was supposed to be released this winter but we are still [not so patiently] waiting and being teased with #facesofmudvein on instagram!  This is the top book on my Spring TBR list!!!

2.  Next up is the conclusion to the The Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins, Sweet Reckoning.  I posted about this before but I cannot wait to find out how this series ends!

3.  Oh Keatyn -- I loved the first two books in the Keatyn Chronicles series by Jillian Dodd and I liked the third book but the fourth book made me seriously question continuing with this series.  However, Adore Me was perfect and I cannot wait to read Hate Me, especially given the ending of Adore Me!!

4.  I am definitely a series lover and so I am always waiting on the next book in my favorite mystery series, The Dead End Job Mystery series by Elaine Viets.

5.  I know so many bloggers, myself included, that loved Foreplay by Sophie Jordan last year when it was released -- what a wonderful NA!!  Obviously, I can't wait for the next book in the series, Tease.

6.  As you all probably already know, JLA is an instant buy for me!  I will read anything and everything she writes.  Don't Look Back sounds creepy but also enchanting -- I can't wait to read this book!

7.  I have read pretty much everything that Richelle Mead has written and I love it all.

8.  Easy is one of my favorite books and Tammara has long said that she would not be writing a sequel.  However, I am so, so excited for a prequel and to learn more about Lucas!  I can't wait to read Breakable!

9.  Another series conclusion from one of my favorite authors, Mary Whitney, I am dying to read Forever Your Heart.

10.  Finally, I want to start the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi.  This is not a new series but it is one that I have heard so many good things about and for me there is nothing better than starting a new series, especially when there are already a few books out so you don't have to wait forever for the next in line!!

  3. I really want to read Don't Look Back. I haven't read any JLA but I've heard great things. This book sounds right up my alley and it is made all the more enticing because my name is Cassi and my best friends name is Sam (just like the characters). Great list!

  5. I'm a HUGE Tarryn Fisher fan!! I can't wait for Mud Vein. And I can't wait for The Immortal Crown. I wasn't a huge fan of the first book but I liked the friendship/relationship between the main characters in Gameboard of the Gods. And I've read Shatter me but not the rest of the books. I need to get on it!

  6. I love Tarryn's Love Me With Lies books! Leah is such a bitch, but I am completely fascinated by her character. I hate her but she fascinates me...
I haven't read Foreplay yet. I think I was burned out by NA's at the time it came out so I'm saving it for when I'm in the mood for NA's again.
I haven't read Richelle's Age of X book. Did you like it? Is is Georgie and VA good? BTW, do you like her other series with Eugene and Dorian? I need to read the last book in that series.
    Shatter Me! YES! Read it!

  9. Oh I just read Shatter Me and REALLY enjoyed it! You definitely need to pick that one up. I need to read The Sweet Trilogy, and I need to read The Immortal Crown too. While I'm a huge Richelle Mead fan, I wasn't blown away by Gameboard of the Gods unfortunately. I have faith that she'll work it out though! Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier!

I love this trope, sub-genre, setting: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend

I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting.  Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of:  My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations!  I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters!  I know there are a ton

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): ARC Greed

This discussion is inspired by my feelings lately when reading and reviewing ARCs versus the feelings I had when I requested those same ARCs: ARC GREED ARC greed -- have we all experienced this?  What I even mean by this term is that I sometimes feel overwhelmed when looking at Netgalley and Edelweiss and  I sometimes over-request, if only because I can!  I get greedy when I see all the new and shiny ARCs available and I will sometimes request things that have even a hint of interest for me, not necessarily focusing only on those books that I really, really want.  The problem with this over-requesting and with getting greedy with requesting (and receiving) ARCs is when it comes time to read and review these ARCs.  Last month and this month, I have looked at my ARCs with a release date in each respective month and I just haven't wanted to read any of them.  I need to start asking myself -- If I was immediately approved for this ARC, would I read it right thi
