Review: Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies, #2) by Tarryn Fisher

Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies, #2) by Tarryn Fisher

Blurb from Goodreads:
Dear Opportunist,

You thought you could take him from me, but you lost. Now, that he's mine I'll do anything to keep him. Do you doubt me? I have everything that was supposed to be yours. In case you were wondering; he doesn't ever think about you anymore. I won't let him go....ever.
Dirty Red

My Review:

Holy $&;*!!!!!!!!!! What else can I say? I think my heart stopped beating several times while reading this book. Anyone that reads my blog knows that The Opportunist was my favorite adult book of last year and Dirty Red may be even better! I don't know how Tarryn Fisher is able to write from a character's POV who you really, really, really don't want to like and still make you feel bad for her but she did it again (she is a goddess!) Now, don't get me wrong, I am Team Caleb/Olivia 110% but poor Leah!

This book was told from Leah's POV and if you think Olivia is a mastermind, wait until you get into Leah's head. While reading the book, there were times that I seriously thought, how on earth could someone do that? But, of course, Tarryn was able to seamlessly weave Leah's cruel, cruel past into the present to provide vital insight into Leah's actions. The ending seriously gave me a heart attack -- I was delighted, stupefied and heartbroken all at once!

I can't believe I am going to have to wait to so long for book #3 from Caleb's POV -- seriously, how will I wait? Tarryn, thank you for giving us another absolutely amazing, heartbreaking, soul shaking book!

Review: The Lost Letters from Martha's Vineyard by Michael Callahan

The Lost Letters from Martha's Vineyard by Michael Callahan Blurb from Goodreads : A tantalizing novel of two women bound by blood but divided by a long-buried secret, and the island that holds the key to the fateful summer that changed everything forever. In 1959, Hollywood ingenue Mercy Welles seems to have the world at her feet. Far removed from her Nebraska roots, she has crafted herself into a glamorous Oscar-nominated actress engaged to an up-and-coming director… Until she shockingly vanishes without a trace, just as her career is taking off. Almost sixty years later, Kit O’Neill, a junior television producer in Manhattan, is packing up her recently deceased grandmother’s attic, only to discover a long-lost box of souvenirs that reveal that the grandmother who raised her and her sister Claire was, in fact, the mysterious Mercy Welles.
