I Love This Trope, Sub-Genre, Setting is a new feature on my blog in which I discuss a trope, sub-genre or setting that I love and tell you about books that are shining examples of said trope, sub-genre or setting. Feel free to play along and please let me know about your favorite books in this realm and whether you like this trope, sub-genre and/or setting as much as I do! Today I am spotlighting the trope of: My Best Friend's Brother/My Brother's Best Friend , which I would define as any book where the heroine either has a crush on or falls for her brother's best friend or her best friend's brother. I have to confess that I love this trope in nearly all of its iterations! I have a younger brother so I never got to crush on any of his friends but it's fun reading about that and it's equally as fun as reading about falling for your best friend's brother -- instant sisters! I know there are a ton...
Considering all books . . .kind of. I review mostly contemporary adult, NA and YA but if it's a great paranormal, fantasy, dystopian, etc., I will read it!
So, I have to admit, I have only read one... BUT I also really liked it! (The Smell of Other People's Houses) and I definitely plan to read a LOT more from your list! Glad to hear that TRK went so well too! The best book I have read so far this year was The Serpent King, hands down. I feel like I had a LOT of wins at the start of the year and things are... slowing a bit haha. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, so happy to to see Undecided on here and I really liked The Smell of Other People's Houses too and I'm halfway through Every Exquisite Thing and it's really good! I haven't had many favorites this year but the ones I have had have been really good.

ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Geez, I haven't read a single one from your list. What am I doing with my life? LOL I do have Dear Fang With Love out from the library right now. Very hopeful that I'll get to it before it's due back. And I have a couple friend who have been raving about Undecided. I really need to go ahead and download that one.
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE Undecided, seriously!!
DeleteI really, really need to read The Raven King. Great list, I might have to look into some of these books.

I was so on the fence about buying The Smell of Other People's Houses. Now that I've seen it on 75% of the lists I've visited I wish I had!
ReplyDeleteI've added almost all of your list to my TBR stack, but there just isn't enough time. I would love to read Unexpected Everything and have seen it on a few lists today. I wasn't a fan of Jane Steele, though.
ReplyDeleteI almost DNF'd after the first 30% but then it took off for me! I know Rachel didn't like it either
DeleteThe only one of these I've read is The Raven King, but I loved it!
