This was only slightly less interesting when I found out it wasn't based on a real person but the descriptions of Frida Kahlo and her home were fascinating. The author painted such vidid pictures and told two timelines seamlessly. Give this a try!
Frida opened her front door. It was unlocked, as usual; she simply couldn't imagine anyone having the nerve to enter a sanctuary without permission, and Casa Azul was her sanctuary.
She crossed Calle Londres diagonally, toward Allende, without looking both ways, seemingly unconcerned about an oncoming car or bus. She wasn't what you would call a cautious woman. Her talent lay in dealing with the consequences.
