Ten Books About Friendship

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fab ladies at The Broke and the Bookish!

1.  I absolutely love the platonic friendship between Thatcher and Fiona in The Blue Bistro.  My favorite book of hers and the BEST beach read!!

2.  Even though Firefly Lane is super sad, it really is about friendship and a pretty amazing friendship, at that!

3.  I loved The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes and it involves a super strong friendship and redemption.

4.  Even though the House of Night series jumped the shark after the sixth or seventh book, what drew me to the series in the first place was the friendship between Zoey and the other members of her circle, especially Damian and Stevie Rae.

5.  Jennifer Crusie's books almost always have awesome friendships in them and Bet Me is my favorite.

6.  The friendships in The Secret History may be a bit . . . unusual . . . but I always loved how close the group was, even in the end.

7.  No better (more intimate?) friendship than The Raven Boys!

8.  You know you have a good friend when, like in The Liar Society, they try to find your killer, even at their own peril!

9.  Things I Can't Forget addresses a question we all have faced:  what do you do when you friend does something that you fundamentally disagree with -- do you shun them or help them?

10.  In Left Drowning, no one needs friends more than Blythe.  And, boy, does she get a whole family of them!

  1. I agree, I'm so over the House of Night books, but the friendship between Zoey and Stevie Rae is something really great. I've just added Left Drowning to my TBR list after reading that goodreads link. It sounds amazing.

  10. Yay for The Raven Boys! I seriously can't get over how well written and epic their friendships are. Book #1 knocked my socks off....but I could NOT read book #2 fast enough. (Plus the writing is sooo beautiful.) And I love how Blue is in the mix. And it's not ALL about the romance. It's like about raising the dead and stuff. SO MUCH AWESOME.
    Thanks for stopping by mine!

Conversations With Myself (& Hopefully You): Should There Be ARCs?

First of all, thank you SO much for reading my very first "discussion" post .  The response was so amazing and I am so grateful to each and every one of you that took the time to read it.  I would like to preface my next discussion post in the same way -- nothing is new and I'm sure that this topic has been discussed by someone, somewhere but this is what is on my mind: SHOULD THERE BE ARCs? Truly, not everything I think about and write about is regarding Maggie Stiefvater's epic series, The Raven Cycle , but it just so happens that this discussion post will mention this series, too.   Those of us that are obsessed with this series (like me) know that there will not be any ARCs for the highly (HIGHLY) anticipated last book of this series, The Raven King . There will be no ARCs (advanced reader copies). Y'all are just going to have to trust me. https://t.co/xYDv0q1tXN — Maggie Stiefvater (@mstiefvater) December 5, 2015 Oddly, I think this ...
