#Georgiethon Recap

Today I am recapping the best read-a-thon EVER of the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead.  Specifically, over the past three weeks, a group of us has read (or re-read) the six books in this wonderful series!  Thank you so much to Nereyda and Megan for putting this all together and for having this vision!

You can read more about #Georgiethon here but, basically, the past three weeks have been awesome.  I first read the Georgina Kincaid series over two years ago.  I remember devouring it the first time and it has since stuck in my mind as one of my all-time favorite series and Seth as one of my top book boyfriends!!  So I was super duper excited when Nereyda and Megan announced the read-a-thon because when I read the series the first time, I had no one with whom to squee/wail/discuss the books.

First, I loved the series even more on a re-read.  I picked up things I'm sure I didn't pick up the first time I read the series because I wasn't as focused on finding out the conclusion of the series and could enjoy (or agonize over) every book as I read it.  Second, it was so awesome to find other people reading the books at the same time and to have Neredyda's and Megan's discussion posts every week to see if other people were having the same feelings I was regarding the books.  I think when all of us finished book #3 and then started reading books #4 and #5, we were all in serious pain.  Richelle Mead really knows how to twist the knife!!  But the ending?  I think this series is one in which I have absolutely no criticism about the epilogue (usually pointless IMO).  The epilogue is PERFECT!  I love Seth!  and Georgie!

Nereyda has informed me of some old chats with Richelle Mead that give us all a glimmer of hope for a Jerome/Carter spin-off.  How amazing would that be?!  Especially if Roman and maybe Kayla were included??  I would love that!  For now, I am seriously content with the re-read of this series and I loved being able to read it with other bloggers.  I am definitely going to be on the look-out for other read-a-thons -- there may no better way to read a complete series!

Have you ever participated in a Read-a-thon?
If so, what did you think?

Have you read the Georgina Kincaid series?
If not, you really, really, really should!

Thank you Nereyda and Megan!!

Waiting on Wednesday: Stone Cold Touch (The Dark Elements #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on Stone Cold Touch (The Dark Elements #2)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout!

Every touch has its price

Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.

But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay…
Like the Lux series before it, I am 100% completely obsessed with JLA's Dark Elements series.  I absolutely loved the first two books in the series and you already know I am a JLA super-fan!  Cannot wait to read this next book with more Layla!  Stone Cold Touch is scheduled for release on October 28, 2014, and you can pre-order HERE.

Swoon Thursday: Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid #4) by Richelle Mead

Swoon Thursday is a meme hosted by YABound.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Today, in honor of #Georgiethon, I am spotlighting Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid #4) by Richelle Mead.  You can read more about #Georgiethon here!  And now, on to the swoon:
We resumed kissing, doing no more than that, just letting our nearly bare bodies wrap around each other.  Having all this skin touching between us was heady.  Never, never had I imagined it could really happen.  Our hands explored each other, feeling every line and curve we'd always been denied.  Every gesture between us was exquisite.  Every caress was a prayer.  We regarded each other's bodies with wonder and joy.
Doesn't this make you want to read more?!  As I iterated last week, I am having an amazing time with Nereyda and Megan and everyone else on this read-a-thon of the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead!  This book breaks my Georgina/Seth shipper heart more than a bit but I won't say more than that.  Who are you swooning over this week? Link up your Swoon below!

Waiting on Wednesday: The Here and Now by Ann Brashares

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on The Here and Now by Ann Brashares!

Follow the rules. Remember what happened. Never fall in love.

This is the story of seventeen-year-old Prenna James, who immigrated to New York when she was twelve. Except Prenna didn’t come from a different country. She came from a different time—a future where a mosquito-borne illness has mutated into a pandemic, killing millions and leaving the world in ruins.

Prenna and the others who escaped to the present day must follow a strict set of rules: never reveal where they’re from, never interfere with history, and never, ever be intimate with anyone outside their community. Prenna does as she’s told, believing she can help prevent the plague that will one day ravage the earth.

But everything changes when Prenna falls for Ethan Jarves.
I recently saw this book on a list of upcoming YA novels and the premise has totally captivated me!  I haven't read anything by this author before but this book sounds incredible.  The Here and Now is scheduled for release on April 8, 2014, and you can pre-order HERE.

Top Ten Books On My Spring 2014 TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fab ladies at The Broke and the Bookish!

1.  Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher was supposed to be released this winter but we are still [not so patiently] waiting and being teased with #facesofmudvein on instagram!  This is the top book on my Spring TBR list!!!

2.  Next up is the conclusion to the The Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins, Sweet Reckoning.  I posted about this before but I cannot wait to find out how this series ends!

3.  Oh Keatyn -- I loved the first two books in the Keatyn Chronicles series by Jillian Dodd and I liked the third book but the fourth book made me seriously question continuing with this series.  However, Adore Me was perfect and I cannot wait to read Hate Me, especially given the ending of Adore Me!!

4.  I am definitely a series lover and so I am always waiting on the next book in my favorite mystery series, The Dead End Job Mystery series by Elaine Viets.

5.  I know so many bloggers, myself included, that loved Foreplay by Sophie Jordan last year when it was released -- what a wonderful NA!!  Obviously, I can't wait for the next book in the series, Tease.

6.  As you all probably already know, JLA is an instant buy for me!  I will read anything and everything she writes.  Don't Look Back sounds creepy but also enchanting -- I can't wait to read this book!

7.  I have read pretty much everything that Richelle Mead has written and I love it all.

8.  Easy is one of my favorite books and Tammara has long said that she would not be writing a sequel.  However, I am so, so excited for a prequel and to learn more about Lucas!  I can't wait to read Breakable!

9.  Another series conclusion from one of my favorite authors, Mary Whitney, I am dying to read Forever Your Heart.

10.  Finally, I want to start the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi.  This is not a new series but it is one that I have heard so many good things about and for me there is nothing better than starting a new series, especially when there are already a few books out so you don't have to wait forever for the next in line!!

Swoon Thursday: Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid #1) by Richelle Mead

Swoon Thursday is a meme hosted by YABound.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Today, in honor of #Georgiethon, I am spotlighting Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid #1) by Richelle Mead.  You can read more about #Georgiethon here!  And now, on to the swoon:
I had said Roman was beautiful, but he was nothing--nothing at all-- compared to Seth in that moment.  Seth, with those long-lashed, quizzical brown eyes, kindness made manifest in all of his actions.  Seth, his messy hair and slightly unkempt facial hair, framing a face which could not hide his nature, the strength of his character shining out at me, his soul like a beacon on a foggy night.
"Seth," I whispered.  "Seth."
He leaned toward me, letting me draw him closer and closer, and then, as heaven and hell raged beyond, I kissed him.
SO excited to be joining Nereyda and Megan and everyone else on this read-a-thon of the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead!  It is so much fun to re-read one of your favorite series with other bloggers!!  I love Georgina [and Seth!] even more the second time around.  Who are you swooning over this week? Link up your Swoon below!

Waiting on Wednesday: Unmasking Juliet by Teri Wilson

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on Unmasking Juliet by Teri Wilson!

Ever since she was a little girl learning to make decadent truffles in her family's chocolate shop, Juliet Arabella has been aware of the bitter feud between the Arabellas and the Mezzanottes. With their rival chocolate boutiques on the same street in Napa Valley, these families never mix. Until one night, when Juliet anonymously attends the annual masquerade ball. In a moonlit vineyard, she finds herself falling for a gorgeous stranger, a man who reminds her what passion is like outside of the kitchen. But her bliss is short-lived when she discovers her masked prince is actually Leo Mezzanotte, newly returned from Paris and the heir to her archenemy's confection dynasty.

With her mind in a whirl, Juliet leaves for Italy to represent the Arabellas in a prestigious chocolate competition. The prize money will help her family's struggling business, and Juliet figures it's a perfect opportunity to forget Leo…only to find him already there and gunning for victory. As they compete head-to-head, Leo and Juliet's fervent attraction boils over. But Juliet's not sure whether to trust her adversary, or give up on the sweetest love she's ever tasted...
After reading another retelling by Teri Wilson, I can't wait for this one!  I reviewed Teri Wilson's P&P retelling, Unleashing Mr. Darcy, here and it was one of my favorite books of 2013!  Unmasking Juliet is scheduled for release on May 27, 2014, and you can pre-order HERE.

Waiting on Wednesday: Off the Record (Record #1) by K.A. Linde

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on Off the Record (Record #1) by K.A. Linde!

Liz Dougherty has no idea a single question is about to change her life.

Her first big reporting assignment for her North Carolina college newspaper has her covering a state senator’s impromptu press conference. Brady Maxwell may have everything it takes to be a politician—a winning pedigree, devastating good looks, a body made to wear suits—but his politics rub Liz the wrong way. When Liz’s hard-hitting question catches the upstart senator off-guard, it impresses Hayden Lane, Liz’s editor who feels she’s headed for a promising career as a reporter.

But Liz is also headed into a secret romance with Brady that could destroy both their ambitions. Though he’s a bachelor, potential voters might frown on Brady cozying up to a reporter. And Liz isn’t sure sneaking around is enough for her—especially when things between her and Hayden might be less platonic than she thought.

Sleek, sexy, and smart, Off the Record ventures into a high-stakes campaign and an even higher-stakes affair to answer the question: When politics and love collide, can there ever be a winner?
I received an ARC of this book and without giving anything away, I absolutely LOVED it!  I could not put it down and it was perfect for one of my favorite genres -- political romance.  If you enjoy Mary Whitney's or K.A. Linde's other books, you will love this one, too!! It is scheduled for release on March 11, 2014, and you can pre-order HERE.
