Waiting on Wednesday: Breakable by Tammara Webber

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on Breakable by Tammara Webber -- a new book by one of my favorite authors!  If you read Easy, Breakable is prequel about Lucas!

He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.

As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.

All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…

As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.

Note: "Breakable is not a sequel. It's a prequel story from Landon and the Easy story from Lucas. ...Breakable is Lucas's story - for those of you who wanted inside his head. It can be read as a stand-alone of its own, or as a companion to Easy.
Easy was one of my favorite books last year and Tammara has long said that she would not be writing a sequel.  However, I am so, so excited for a prequel and to learn more about Lucas!  I can't wait to read it!  It is scheduled for release on May 6, 2014.

Swoon Thursday: Unleashing Mr. Darcy by Teri Wilson

Swoon Thursday is a meme hosted by YABound.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Today, I am spotlighting Unleashing Mr. Darcy by Teri Wilson, which I am reading this week!  This book is a wonderful, wonderful Adult contemporary, which is a retelling of Pride & Prejudice set in the dog show world.  It sounds a bit unorthodox but I am loving this book so much.  And now, on to the swoon:
If that wasn't an invitation to be kissed, and to be kissed thoroughly, Donovan didn't know what was.  Knowing that she wanted it, he had a mind to make her wait for it.
"Let me get this for you."  He scooped the cream off her nose and offered it to her.
Without breaking their gaze, she licked his fingertip.  At the sight of that tongue . . . those lips . . . all thoughts of making her wait flew right out of Donovan's head.  In one swift movement, he took the champagne flute from her hand and leaned in, pressing his mouth against hers.
Her lips were sweet, cold from the champagne.  She tasted of strawberries and rosé.  He groaned in satisfaction as he felt her body shiver in delight and her mouth curved into the subtlest of smiles.
This is my first Teri Wilson book and I am loving it!! Highly recommend for Adult contemporary and, especially, fans of Jane Austen.  Even if you have read a lot of Pride & Prejudice retellings, this one is super cute and unique!  This book is scheduled to be released on January 1, 2014 and you can Pre-Order Here!*  Who are you swooning over this week? Link up your Swoon below!

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To a New Adult Fan

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fab ladies at The Broke and the Bookish!  Today I am spotlighting the Top Ten Books I'd Recommend to a New Adult Fan!  I have read a lot of books in this genre, which I loosely define as books set in college and/or concerning characters 18+.  Below are the books I love the most in this genre:

1.  There is no one better than Jessica Park when it comes to NA in my opinion!  Left Drowning is one of my top three books for this year and Flat-Out Love was my top NA pick for last year -- Flat-Out Matt was the perfect companion book!

2.  I just finished the first two books in the All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic and I could not put either book down!  These are not love stories but they are gritty and told from a unique male POV.  The first book The Foxhole Court (All for the Game) is free for kindle and I highly recommend the series!

3.  Another excellent NA series is the Just One Day series by Gayle Forman.  I thought the second book was even better than the first!

4.  Easy by Tammara Webber was the book that started my NA love.  This one is always worth reading!

5.  My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea Cameron was also one of the first NA books I read and it's still one of my absolute favorites!

6.  I couldn't finish this list without mentioning the Lengths series by two of my favorite authors, Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt.  This series just concluded and every book in it is amazing!

7.  Any book by Colleen Hoover could be on this list.  I read Slammed and Point of Retreat last year and adored them both -- Hopeless is one of my favorites from this year.

8.  Mary Whitney is another one of my favorite NA authors.  Can't wait until the conclusion of her Beside Your Heart series.

9.  I recently read Undeclared by Jen Frederick and absolutely loved it!  Can't wait to read more of this series.

10.  Another new NA series that came out this year is the Off the Subject series by Denise Grover Swank.  I highly recommend the first book, After Math.

Swoon Thursday: Disclosure of the Heart (Beside Your Heart #2) by Mary Whitney

Swoon Thursday is a meme hosted by YABound.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Today, I am spotlighting Disclosure of the Heart (Beside Your Heart #2) by Mary Whitney, which I stayed up all night to finish as soon as it was released!  This book is a wonderful, wonderful NA/Adult contemporary, a genre of which I have read a ton!  I am counting the seconds until the final book in the series, Forever Your Heart (Beside Your Heart #3), is released in early 2014!!  And now, on to the swoon:

As if he read my mind, he slowly moved his hand over my cheekbone and rubbed his thumb over my brow.  It was so kind I rested my cheek in his hand.  His eyes were fixed on mine as he declared, "I loved you, Nicki.  And to my eyes, you're still the fairest of them all."
My eyes widened.  What was there to say to that?  "Adam . . . " I whispered.
"But now you're also this fascinating woman.  i want to touch you, but I want more.  I want to hear your stories.  I want to listen to your opinions on things.  I want to get to know you again."
I have now read all of Mary Whitney's books and have seriously loved every single one of them.  However, Disclosure of the Heart was the perfect story of seizing that second chance with your first love despite adversity.  The first book, Beside Your Heart, was such a wonderful mixture of grief, teen angst and first love.  I cannot wait to find out what happens next!! Highly recommend for NA/Adult contemporary; I absolutely love Mary Whitney's genre of political romance.  Who are you swooning over this week? Link up your Swoon below!

Waiting on Wednesday: Masquerade (Games #3) by Nyrae Dawn

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on Masquerade (Games #3) by Nyrae Dawn -- the third book in the Games series.  I absolutely LOVED the first two books in this series and I can't wait for the third!

After his father is put in prison for murder leaving his mother suicidal, Maddox Cross has always put his sister, Laney, first. Now living in Brenton, Virginia, Maddox has no idea what to do with his life, especially since Laney no longer needs him. One thing he does know is for the first time since losing football, he's found something else that's just for him--tattooing. When he meets a feisty young woman in the club where he works security, he has no idea that she has the ability to change his life forever.

Bee Malone has just moved to Brenton to open up her first tattoo parlor, Masquerade. Despite her young success, nothing is ever as it seems. After being kidnapped at a young age, Bee has difficulty being the daughter her parents lost and letting go of the "parents" she was raised with. When she meets Maddox, she's immediately attracted to him and what starts out as a one night stand leaves Bee wanting to connect with him in more ways than one.

Once Maddox finds out about Masquerade, he wants nothing more than to join Bee. But letting him in means trying to figure out who she is and she's not ready for that. And yet, as the two get closer, they find themselves leaning on each other more than they are comfortable with. Will their stubborn nature tear them apart? Or push them closer together?
This would be the perfect time to read the first two books in this series if you haven't already!  The first book is Charade and the second book is Facade -- I can guarantee that you will love them! It is scheduled to be released January 7, 2014 and you can pre-order here!

Last Week I Read:

This week was amazing!  I loved everything I read!  So exciting.  Obviously, this week was heavy on NA but that is certainly my weakness.  Last week's swoon was from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and expect swoons and reviews from Disclosure of The Heart and Undeclared to come!

This Week I Plan to Read:

Swoon Thursday: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Swoon Thursday is a meme hosted by YABound.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Today, I am spotlighting Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, which I am reading this week!  And now, on to the swoon:

"Come home with me, Cath."  She could hear him smiling.
"It's early and I don't want to say good night."
"I never want to say good night, but we still manage."
"Wait, you don't?"
"No," she whispered.
"Come home with me," he whispered back.

Leaving you with a vague quote because I don't want you to know who said this if you haven't read the book yet!  This is a great YA book and I can't wait to read more from this author!  Who are you swooning over this week? Link up your Swoon below!

Waiting on Wednesday: White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating.

Today, I am waiting on White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout -- the first book in a new paranormal JLA series!!!!!!!!!!!

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.
Cannot wait for a new JLA series, especially since it is paranormal!  My favorite YA series is the Lux series and this series sounds like it will be just as awesome!! It is scheduled to be released February 25th, 2014 and you can pre-order here!

Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait To Get My Hands On (including next in series)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the fab ladies at The Broke and the Bookish!

1.  I stayed up all night reading the first book in the Beside Your Heart series by Mary Whitney and I am SO happy that the second book, Disclosure of the Heart, releases today!!

2.  I feel like I have been waiting for Consumed by Emily Snow forever!  I absolutely love Devoured, the first book in the series and the second book's release date has been pushed and pushed....

3.  During my hiatus and I started the Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins -- I was immediately sucked in and I am counting the days until the final book, Sweet Reckoning, is released!

4.  So Origin was not what I was expecting -- in a good way!  Things are going so fast and I do not want this series to end.  No cover yet but Opposition (Lux #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout is going to be a wild ride.

5.  Oh Keatyn -- I loved the first two books in the Keatyn Chronicles series by Jillian Dodd and I liked the third book but the fourth book made me seriously question continuing with this series.   Regardless, I am interested to see what happens next and maybe get back on track in Adore Me.

6.  After the ending of The Indigo Spell, I think The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead has to be one of the most highly anticipated books and it comes out soon -- I can't wait for Sydrian!!!!!!!!!

7.  I have no shame in having two JLA books on this list! Be with Me (Wait for You #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the highly anticipated second book in the Wait For You series and I know it is going to be so good!

8.  Again with the no cover but I am so ready for Avoiding Temptation (Avoiding #3) by K.A. Linde.  Yes, this series is a bit of a train wreck but how is it going to end?!

9.  You guys already know I LOVE the Hundred Oaks series by Miranda Kenneally and, of course, I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Racing Savannah.

10.  The next book in The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater is still Untitled but I cannot wait to read it!  The second book was so much better than I could have ever imagined (even after loving the first book) and I cannot wait to find out where this series is going to go . . .
